How to Make Money with Your Website - Part 5 - Amazon And eBay Widgets
Imagine the power of AdSense (contextual advertising) , and affiliate offers put together. This is what Amazon and eBay widgets give you. These widgets place affiliate ads on your website for products sold on Amazon or eBay relevant to your content.
There is something that Amazon and eBay have that most other affiliate offers don’t – trust. People are used to buying things from these websites, so if you refer them to a product there, they will have fewer doubts about buying. They have other advantages as well.
eBay not only pays you a percentage of the products people buy. They also pay you $25 for every new user that signs up after coming through your affiliate link.
Amazon increases your commission rate based on the number of items that “you” sold – the more active you are, the more you get paid for each sale. Plus, if the person you refer doesn’t buy the product they viewed initially, but keep browsing the Amazon store and buy something else – you still get paid.
Amazon has a number of different widgets that you can add to your website. If you want to use them you need to log in with your Amazon Associates account, click "Widgets" from the menu at the top, and select the "Omakase Links" widget. The choice of other - non-automatic - widgets include search bars, your wish-list, your favorites, MP3 clips, movie previews, recommended products and a few more.
If you want to use contextual eBay ads, you’ll need to sign up for ShoppingAds and follow the instructions there. You can see an example of an ad that could show up on your website at the ShoppingAds homepage. It also has a built-in affiliate program.
