About
This is where I tell you a little bit about myself. My name is Tony, and I’m a self-unemployed geek. I first started thinking about blogging 4 or 5 years ago, but never got ’round to actually starting. What I needed was a good ass-kicking and that came from my wonderful girlfriend - she was nagging me to start writing for weeks, to no avail. Then a couple of months later an opportunity came by - which I wouldn’t have really considered, had it not been for her nagging - and I though “what the heck.”
I’ve had three or four “real” jobs in my life - 6 weeks was the longest I stayed in one job, and that was only because there was a compulsory 6 week internship required during college. I’ve worked in construction, I’ve worked as a loan officer’s assistant at a bank, I’ve worked in investment banking, I’ve done page-making, web-design, programming, I tried writing, organizing competitions, and lots of other stuff.
What I learned through all that, was that a job is the last thing I want. Not because I have a problem with hard work, but because I hate doing stupid things, I hate doing things that don’t make sense, I hate sitting in the office for 4 hours doing nothing and waiting for the working hours to end, and I hate waiting for someone to figure out something for me to do.
I barely finished college, and knew that I had enough academia to last me a life-time. During the third year in college I started my first “real” company. It started as a software business, but changed focus many times. I knew what I wanted to do with my life - what I didn’t know is how to get to the point of doing that, so I spent most of my time learning about that.
Over the years I’ve met many people that were struggling with their jobs, barely making a living, having no time for themselves and their families - all because they were somehow convinced, that they had to maintain a job in order to survive. So I wanted to find a way to help these people - and I did. I want to use this blog, to show you that it’s possible to have a decent income and freedom to live your life the way you want to live it. I hope this blog will give you the ass-kicking that will get you started.
